It started with my mum.
She was 56 when she stopped coming on family walks. She'd say her knee was playing up, or it was too hot, or she had something on. After a year of excuses I worked out the real reason. She was leaking. Not a lot. But enough that she didn't trust herself to walk forty minutes from a bathroom.
She'd been to her GP twice. Both times she came home with the same answer: it's just menopause, love. Try doing your pelvic floors. She tried. She also tried Urox. She tried Caruso's. She tried two different prescription tablets that gave her dry mouth so badly she could barely sleep. Nothing worked. So she stopped going on walks.
That's the part that stuck with me. Not the leaks. The quiet shrinking of her life because of them. The dinners she skipped. The grandkids' birthday parties she watched from the kitchen instead of the trampoline. The way she started saying no to everything that involved being more than ten minutes from a toilet.
I started reading. I'm not a doctor and I'm not pretending to be one, but what I found surprised me. There were two clinical trials — Nishimura in 2014 and Shim in 2014 — that showed real, measurable improvement in women's bladder function from one specific thing. Cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil. Not a herbal cocktail. Not a mystery extract stack. Just pumpkin seed oil, in the right form, at the right dose, taken consistently for around twelve weeks.
I asked her GP about it. He hadn't heard of the studies. I sent them through. He read them and shrugged and said it probably won't hurt to try. That was the energy. That's the level of care most women in perimenopause are getting in this country right now.
So we built our own.
ElaraPure exists because my mum should have had something better than a shrug and a script. We made one product. Cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil with saw palmetto, in the exact form and dose used in the trials. No mystery herbs. No fillers. Made in a GMP-certified facility, third-party tested, and built specifically for Australian women in their 40s, 50s and 60s.
We're not trying to be a hundred-product wellness empire. We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We make one thing, properly, for the women whose GPs aren't listening.
What we promise.
We'll never tell you it's a miracle, because it's not. It's a clinically-studied compound that takes time. Most women feel the difference between weeks four and six. Full results — the kind the studies measured — show up around the twelve-week mark. That's why our biggest bundle is sized to last a hundred days. We'd rather you saw it through properly than gave up at week three.
And if it doesn't work for you, you send it back. Sixty days, no questions, no return postage, no awkward emails. We take the risk because we'd rather lose a sale than have a woman feel duped.
My mum is back on the walks now, by the way. She came on a four-hour bushwalk with us in February and didn't think about her bladder once. That's the only review of this product that's ever really mattered to me.
